Rev. Jessica Henks

Rev. Henks is an American Baptist ordained minister since 2009. She holds dual Bachelors degrees in Religion and History from William Jewell College in Liberty, MO and an MDiv from Northern Baptist Theological Seminary, as well as certificates in Leadership and Christian-Related Vocation. She spent her junior year of college studying abroad at the Centre for Medieval and Renaissance Studies at Keble College, Oxford University focusing on church history. In 2015-2016, Pastor Jessica participated in the Lewis Fellowship through Wesley Seminary to further her pastoral leadership skills.

Having been called by God to ministry in high school, Jessica began her career in ministry at the age of 18. Through her post-secondary studies, she served as a youth minister in four churches. Since graduating from seminary in 2008, she has served four congregations as pastor, 8 years in Kankakee, IL, 7 months as an Interim in Garnett, KS, 2 years in Ottawa, KS, and now currently 4 years in Stilwell, KS.
Jessica met her husband, Brian, in college at William Jewell. They have been married since 2006 and have two wonderful boys. She enjoys reading, writing, running, and making music. Jessica plays piano, guitar, and flute.

At a very early age, Jessica was gifted to recognize and hear the voice of God. Throughout her life, she has learned to cherish and follow God's leading. While that journey has brought plenty of struggles, it has been a blessing. Her passion is helping others learn to hear the voice of God, recognize His leading in their lives, and share a passion for God's word and Kingdom. Rooted is one expression of that passion for discipling others. Jessica is excited to come alongside you and your community as you seek to know God more fully!
